Achieve Atlanta Coaches
Mari Fridenmaker
Mari Fridenmaker completed her first triathlon in 2003 with Team in Training and since then has been hooked on the sport! She has finished over 30 triathlons, including two Ironman races.
Mari decided to share her love of the sport by starting Peachtree Tri Club in 2006 for adults in metro Atlanta who enjoy a low-key, non-intimidating environment to train and race. The club grew very quickly from 30 members to over 100 members today. Mari has been coaching part-time since 2008 and recently took her passion for coaching full-time. She has coached over 20 athletes in every aspect of the sport from swim stroke analysis to preparing athletes for their first Ironman.
Mari is the President and Head Coach of Vizsla Coaching, Inc. She serves as the Coach for Peachtree Tri Club. She is also the Swim Coach for Tri-Kids. Mari heads up Vizsla Swim Team at Agnes Scott College in Decatur. She is pleased to serve as the first Head Coach of ACHIEVE Kids Tri in Atlanta!
Matt Wren
A research scientist with Georgia Tech Research Institute, Matt Wren is also a committed triathlete and endurance athlete. He has pursued his dream of sharing his passion for multisport with kids by working tirelessly to bring ACHIEVE Kids Tri to Atlanta. Without all of his hard work, ACHIEVE Atlanta would not be possible.
Matt’s role at Georgia Tech Research Institute is to conduct research on the performance and energy efficiency of buildings and infrastructure systems. This includes various assignments on behalf of public and private building owners, such as Georgia Tech's campus energy initiatives, public K-12 schools' energy initiatives, projects for private sector business owners, and work for Yellowstone National Park. The focus is typically on building systems and interactions between building systems, energy conservation measures for existing buildings, return on investment and life-cycle cost analyses, and indoor air quality analyses.
