Meet the Achieve Waterbury Coaches

Head Coach Susanne Navas – Waterbury

Susanne is the lead woman responsible for bringing ACHIEVE to New Haven, CT in 2010! Over the next few months she will be recruiting coaches and getting her community of Waterbury, Connecticut ready to host ACHIEVE Kids Tri.

When asked why she decided to get involved with ACHIEVE Kids Tri, this was her response:

β€œOn my way home to CT from competing in Ironman Cozumel 2009, I was reading a back issue of Triathlon Life Magazine and saw a small blurb on ACHIEVE. Impressed with its mission, which appealed to my desire to bring the sport of triathlon to underprivileged youth, I had checked out their website before even unpacking my race gear. I have mentored youth in Waterbury, CT for several years, many of whom are teen moms, and it is very important to me to teach people the importance of setting goals and of taking care of our health through fitness and diet. ACHIEVE does all of this, in a well-organized, replicable, effective manner. If I can help kids and their families in CT realize that anything is achievable, I will indeed have accomplished one of my own life's goals.”
