ACHIEVE DC celebrates its 7th Anniversary in 2013! Founded in 2007 with the support of Washington DC's Department of Parks and Recreation it has had five successful years of existence. The program was launched at Turkey Thicket Recreation Center in the summer of 2007. The success of the initial year led to expansion over the last five years to four sites in DC.

Demetrius Denson received an ACHIEVE All Star AwardAt the 2011 ACHIEVE Benefit, Demetrius Denson received an ACHIEVE All Star Award. Demetrius is the DPR facility director for ACHEIVE Benning and for the past three years has gone above and beyond in his support for the program. He is the main reason that athlete outreach and recruitment, as well as camp logisitics are so successful at Benning Park Recreation Center. Guest Coach ProgramIn 2011, ACHIEVE partnered with a number of community organizations to enhance the Guest Coach Program. ACHIEVE is planning to continue and improve these partnerships in 2012, as well as support ACHIEVE's Host City Camps in developing their own Guest Coach Program.
